Overview

Role: Business Placement Student

We are JR Management Accountancy. A small accountancy practice operating from our contemporary offices in Droitwich, and a 15 to 20-minute walk from the train station, with a bus stop next to us. We specialise in providing bookkeeping services and financial support to businesses, and we are looking to recruit a placement student to support our further growth. In return, we offer the opportunity for you to learn, gain hands-on experience and grow with us. We have successfully provided placements to a number of students from Worcester University in recent years.

About the Role

This position is suitable for those studying Business, Accounting and Marketing related degrees. We are offering a 12-month placement, expected to begin in Sep-26. The role will encompass two main workstreams,

  • Accounting and Finance - You will learn bookkeeping, VAT, payroll and data analysis using a range of different software packages and will work alongside experienced and qualified professionals who will provide guidance to develop your skills and knowledge.
  • Business and Operations – You will support the Practice Manager in a range of operational tasks that are critical to the running of a small business. These will include utilising our practice software for invoicing and business metrics, as well as marketing and a wide range of general administrative tasks.

What You’ll Gain

  • You will gain hands-on experience in working for our customers’ small businesses.
  • A whole year’s worth of knowledge on several financial software packages.
  • Develop an understanding of a business’s internal operations in an applied office setting.
  • The ability to analyse and interpret the business metrics, and marketing data.

Role Requirements

As this is a Business Placement, we require the student to be studying a business, accounting or marketing-related courses. We welcome candidates who

  • Are methodical and organised
  • Deliver tasks internally and to customers in a timely manner
  • Can be flexible, adaptable and keen to get stuck in, as it’s a small business
  • Have an appetite for learning and enjoy working with numbers

Package

Salary is minimum wage with a 30-hour week, 4 days a week. Work will be from our Droitwich office with opportunities to work from home. Commencement date is expected to be Sep-26.
